ABOUT ME
Mary Jo DuPrey is the Private Touring Vocal Coach for Jon Bon Jovi. She also trained Daveed Diggs for his star making and Tony Award winning performance as Lafayette/Jefferson in Broadway’s “Hamilton.” Mary Jo served on the faculty at the Ray Bolger Program in Musical Theater at UCLA from 2006- 2017 where her renowned Rock Musical Theater Class has helped usher countless students onto the Broadway and National Tour Stages, including other cast members of “Hamilton,” “Beautiful,” “Jersey Boys,” “Book of Mormon,” and “Matilda,” “Anastasia,” “Motown".” "Moulin Rouge", "Frozen", and “Spongebob,”. She, alongside her colleagues, helped place UCLA on the lists of the most sought after Musical Theater Programs in the country.
After years of training and working directly under Master Teacher Katie Agresta, Mary Jo DuPrey has also worked extensively in traditional Musical Theater styles and repertoire, combining these techniques and disciplines into a vocal approach for theater actors that is unique and amazingly effective. In tandem with her extensive experience in acting and Ovation Nominated directing, Mary Jo can provide singers with the technical abilities to deliver superior sound while delving into the specifics and depths of acting, guiding her students towards auditions and performances that are integrated and of the very highest professional quality. In group settings, she has combined the work of Wesley Balk and Anne Bogart's "Viewpoints" to create a system that unleashes profound creativity in the contemporary stage singer.
